Chino Basque Club Celebrates

Its 2014 Immigrant Dinner

Last June 21st, Chino Basque Club (CA) celebrated its “Immigrant Dinner” a homage-dinner to those Basques now living in the area that migrated to the American West on between 1955 and 1960.

Organizers honored those immigrants with a short documentary by Marianna Etcheverria. The video consisted of photos from the early days, images of current times, family pictures of the honorees and short interviews with some of the immigrants.

The first homage-dinner of this kind was held by the Chino Basque Club last year and it honored immigrants that arrived between the years 1950 and 1955. For next year, the Club is thinking of organizing a similar celebration to honor those that came to America in the first half of the 1960’s.
