on designer Patricia Urquiola’s latest design.
Patricia Urquiola, the Spanish-born Milanese designer, has created H2O Bilbao,

a pitcher based on the kaiku, an ancient Basque wooden milking and cooking vessel.
Ms. Urquiola said she borrowed the classic form
to pay tribute to Bilbao’s excellent tap water.

Diners in Bilbao’s restaurants who elect to drink tap water
served from the pitcher will be charged 1 euro (about $1.33),
with proceeds donated to Oxfam for building artesian wells in Ethiopia.
(The pitchers will also be sold by the restaurants, and the money given to Oxfam.)
H2O Bilbao is 127 euros (about $169) from the ceramic company Bosa.".
